About the role

Workshop/Yard Hand - Based in Bibra Lake

OPS is currently seeking a motivated Workshop/Yard Hand to support our busy workshop operations in Bibra Lake, WA. In this role, you'll work closely with experienced tradespeople, assisting with maintenance, servicing, and equipment upgrades for the mining and bulk materials handling industry.

• Cleaning machinery using high pressure cleaning equipment in the wash bay.
• Maintain wash bay cleanliness and ensure a safe working environment
• Assist with machine loading / unloading activities.
• Prestart checks for workshop plant and equipment including forklifts, cranes and vehicles.
• Operation of hand tools, power tools, lifting and access equipment.
• Operation of forklift to organise yard layout and ensure cleanliness.
• Assist trades employees with preventative maintenance, service, production and upgrades to mineral processing and bulk materials handling equipment.
• Stores activities for the branch as required, inclusive of participating in stocktake processes, picking and dispatch of customer orders.
• Assist with general yard duties and labouring tasks as required
• Prepare and maintain work areas in a safe and clean manner.

We are looking for a self-starter with an excellent attitude. Our ideal candidate will be safety focused, have the drive and passion to learn our business and be a part of our team. You will have some previous work experience as a Trades Assistant.

To be successful for this role you will need to have the following:



• Full unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s License – HR desirable
• Previous experience working in a workshop environment.
• Experience with metal working equipment
• Current forklift license 
• Be physically able to perform manual handling tasks – lifting up to 25kg
• Pro-active and self-motivated
• Have a strong personal belief in the importance of safety.
• Must be able to pass a Pre-employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol screen
